Indoor plants may wilt when you’re on a holiday, if no one takes care of them. To prevent this to happen, you can call to some simple tricks while you’re away.
1. String method
For small plants, you can use the string method. This means to put a string into plant’s ground, and take out the end of the string through a hole from the bottom of the pot. Place the end of the string in a pot filled with water. The string will draw as much water as it needs to prevent your plant from wilting.
This method will give your plants the moisture they need for a few days to two weeks, depending on the size of the water tank.
2. The glass method
Another simple but effective method for large pots is to use a plastic bottle. Remove the bottle cap and make 2 or 3 small holes in the plastic bottle with a piece of hot metal. Fill the plastic bottle with water, seal it with the cap, and insert the bottle with its cap into the ground. This way your plants will remain wet.
This method will prevent your plants from wilting for a week or two.
